CURRENT STATE OF CRYOPRESERVATION OF REPRODUCTIVE CELLS AND EMBRYOS
According to the scientific report at the meeting of the Presidium of NAS of Ukraine
May 17, 2017

The report presents the research results of cryopreservation of gametes and embryos, which are the basis for the assisted reproductive technologies (ART) that have been rapidly developing during the recent decade. The current issues of the ART of reproductive cells cryopreservation are covered; the basic methods of cryopreservation, as well as their advantages and disadvantages, are defined; the factors affecting the efficiency and safety of these procedures for next generations are clarified. Particular emphasis is made on the investigation of cryopreservation factors which influence morphological and functional characteristics of gametes and preimplantation embryos (in clinical medicine and experimental studies).
Keywords: cryopreservation, reproductive cells, preimplantation embryos.

 Language of article: ukrainian
