STAGES OF NUCLEAR ENERGY DEVELOPMENT AFTER CHERNOBYL ACCIDENT
To the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl NPP accident

Abstract:
After the discovery of nuclear fission and its capability of releasing considerable energy, experts realized that this energy could be practically used. After some constructive developments, nuclear energy entered the life of humanity. Quite soon, it was learned how to use it in relatively simple ways. Many experimental nuclear reactors have been built in the world and they worked successfully and trouble-free. In that time, the attention to the safe operation of power reactors was insufficient. And for this, the "punishment" has come in the form of accidents. The largest accident occurred at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Man-made disaster compelled humanity to pay close attention to the safety of nuclear power plants.
