The results of researches on development of microprismal structures are presented and an analysis of possibilities of their use in modern laser and light-emitting diode systems and ophthalmology is conducted. The Institute of Information Recording of NAS of Ukraine is developing artificially formed and specially structured environments — metamaterials, the use of which allows the creation of optical elements and devices with unique properties. Metamaterials are synthesized by introducing into the natural material of different periodic structures with a wide variety of geometric shapes. Today, precision parts with microstructured surfaces, for example, Fresnel lenses and prisms, retro-reflective elements are increasingly used in precision instrumentation, engineering and medicine.
