PROBLEMS OF CHEMICAL AND RADIATION SAFETY OF UKRAINE
Information from scientific report at the meeting of Presidium of NAS of Ukraine
April 29, 2015

Abstract:
The report describes the main sources and factors of chemical and radiation dangers, which at present take place in Ukraine and pose environmental risks to the livelihoods of people and the biosphere. It is shown that in many cases the processes of chemical and radioactive contamination have regional level. Formulated the basic management activities and scientific tasks for the prevention of emergency situations and minimizing their impact on the environment. Characterized scientific and technical capacity of the institutions of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, which can be successfully implemented to address these problems.
Keywords: chemical dangers, radioactive contamination, toxic waste, radioactive waste, comprehensive environmental monitoring.
