TRANSPARENT ARMOR AND PROSPECTS FOR ITS USE IN UKRAINIAN ARMORED VEHICLES

Abstract:
An international team involving Institute for Single Crystals of NAS of Ukraine developed lightweight transparent armor based on sapphire and special glasses that opposes bullet 7.62 B-32 with tempered steel core. Designed armor is lighter and more efficient than pack of glasses used in domestic armored vehicles.
