To the 90th anniversary of Corresponding Member of NAS of Ukraine V.T. Tolok

In 1960 Academician I.V. Kurchatov instructed the young physicist V.T. Tolok to direct the research program for the development in KhPTI of foundations of controlled stellarator type thermonuclear reactor. Under this program in Kharkiv the only in Ukraine powerful experimental base for important research of thermonuclear energy was established, and later a scientific school of plasmists-thermonuclearists was formed. In the early 1970s, on the initiative and direct participation of V.T. Tolok research in nonequilibrium plasma chemistry of high energy was widely deployed. It has led to the creation of a new progressive direction in plasma technology – obtaining new heavy-duty coating tools in "Bulat" installations.
