RESEARCH AND INNOVATIVE POTENTIAL FOR MOBILIZATION AND APPLICATION OF NEW PLANT RESOURCES IN UKRAINE
According to the materials of scientific report at the meeting of the Presidium of NAS of Ukraine, November 23, 2016

The report presents the results of NBG research on development of basic and applied aspects of introduction, acclimatization, breeding, biotechnology mobilization and use of new plant resources and the introduction of modern developments in phytotechnology with the purpose of practical improvement in quality of life in Ukraine. During a period of many years, NBG has created a unique collection of useful plants, which includes about 2,000 items. These collections are included in the State Register of scientific objects of national heritage. With the use of fund collection 92 varieties of rare and new cultures were bred. In NBG nearly 50 new technologies for use of plant resources for the production of alternative fuels, high vitamin and protein food and feed, medicinal and aromatic phytomedications, green fertilizers, pulp and paper products and more were developed.
