THE STATE OF SCIENCE IN UKRAINE
BASED ON THE ASSESSMENTS OF UKRAINIAN AND FOREIGN EXPERTS

Assessments by the most competent specialists on the state of affairs in the scientific sphere of modern Ukraine are presented. The analysis includes not only evaluation of the general state of science in Ukraine and the prospects for its development, but also such parameters as the role of science in Ukrainian society; attitude to the national science by the state, society, media, business structures and foreign scientific organisations; the institutional model of the organisation of science; a system of indicators for assessing the work of scientists, etc. Comparison between Ukrainian and foreign experts’ assessments is presented for certain indicators. National experts’ proposals and recommendations on the reformation of science in Ukraine are systematised.
